In Blowing Rock, the Blowing Rock Country Club’s
course runs adjacent to highway 321 and boasts
some of the most scenic views in the Blue Ridge.
With a gorgeous layout and a challenging set of
holes, Blowing Rock Country Club is one of the
more prestigious in the area. Further up the
Blue Ridge Parkway, Banner Elk is home to some
of the most noted courses in the mountains, many
of which are private or semi-private. Hound Ears
Club, Grandfather Mountain Golf and Country
Club, and Linville Ridge are exclusive golf
communities with phenomenal courses. If you are
lucky enough to get a chance at playing one of
these area courses, do not pass it up!
Banner Elk’s public courses are The Beech
Mountain Club and Village of Sugar Mountain Golf
Course and offer part time and seasonal
residents with challenging courses in the Blue
Ridge Mountains.
If you’re up for a quick drive, there are a few
excellent courses near West Jefferson in Ashe
County North Carolina. Jefferson Landing Golf
Club is Ashe County’s premier golf course,
boasting gorgeous greens and a challenging
landscape. Players enjoy the mountain scenery
near the New River and relish playing this
excellently rated course. Also near West
Jefferson in Ashe County is Mountain Aire Golf
Course located along Hwy 16/88. This course is
the oldest course in Ashe County and always a
great place to play.
